The Q43W-4000 box shear is a heavy-duty hydraulic scrap shear designed to compress and cut bulky metal waste into shorter, manageable pieces. With 4000 kN cutting force, a 1400 mm blade and an approximate cutting frequency of 2–3 cycles per minute, it provides an efficient solution for scrap yards, steel mills and metal recycling centers processing mixed ferrous scrap.
Unlike a traditional open-blade shear, this hydraulic box shear combines material loading, side compression, feeding and cutting in one integrated system. Loose and irregular scrap is loaded into the box, compressed into a controlled profile and gradually pushed toward the cutting head.
This enclosed processing method reduces the need for extensive manual sorting and pre-compression. It is particularly suitable for long, bulky or irregular scrap that is difficult to feed directly into a conventional alligator shear.
The Q43W-4000 can be equipped with PLC automatic control and remote operation, allowing the operator to supervise loading and cutting from a safer working position.
