Solving Steel Scrap Volume & Transportation Challenges
A medium-sized scrap recycling company in Mexico mainly processes steel scrap and rebar offcuts collected from local construction sites and metal workshops. Before purchasing the Y83-200 Hydraulic Metal Baler, the customer faced serious challenges related to low scrap density, high transportation frequency, and limited storage space.
Loose steel scrap occupied large areas in their yard, and trucks often ran under capacity, resulting in high logistics costs and inefficient operations. Additionally, the customer required a machine that was easy to operate and maintain, as skilled operators were limited.
After evaluating several options, the customer selected the Y83-200 Hydraulic Metal Baler due to its 2000 kN compression force, stable hydraulic system, and simple hand valve control. Once installed, the machine successfully compressed steel scrap into high-density bales over 1800 kg/m³, significantly reducing storage volume and improving loading efficiency.
As a result, transportation frequency was reduced, labor intensity decreased, and overall operating costs dropped noticeably. The customer reported that the Y83-200 now plays a key role in their daily recycling operations and has greatly improved workflow efficiency.
