The Q43-800 scrap metal alligator shear is a hydraulic cutting machine designed for small and medium-scale scrap-metal recycling, machining-offcut processing and furnace-charge preparation.
The machine provides a maximum shearing force of approximately 800 kN, equivalent to about 80 tons. It is equipped with an 800 mm blade and a 7.5 kW electric motor.
This hydraulic scrap shear is suitable for cutting ordinary rebar, round bars, square bars, light structural sections, steel bar ends and a wide range of metal-production offcuts.
The machine uses manual feeding and can be supplied with either manual controls or PLC semi-automatic operation. Its relatively compact structure and moderate installed power make it suitable for scrap yards, fabrication workshops, steel warehouses, foundries and recycling centers.
As a practical Scrap Metal Shear, Scrap Metal Alligator Shear, Hydraulic Scrap Shear and Metal Recycling Shear, the Q43-800 reduces long and irregular scrap into shorter, more manageable pieces for baling, storage, transportation and furnace charging.
Main performance data include:
Scrap-recycling and metal-processing companies frequently receive or generate materials with inconsistent lengths, dimensions and shapes, including:
Without proper size reduction, these materials may create several operational problems.
Long bars, rebar and structural sections cannot be stacked efficiently and occupy valuable working space.
Flame cutting consumes oxygen and fuel gas and requires experienced operators and additional hot-work safety control.
Oversized material may not fit properly inside a scrap metal baler chamber, reducing loading and compression efficiency.
Long and irregular scrap leaves excessive empty space inside trucks and containers.
Steel mills and foundries often require scrap to be reduced to specified furnace-charge sizes.
A gantry shear, container shear or complete heavy-duty shearing line may require more investment, power and installation space than a small or medium recycling company needs.
The Q43-800 hydraulic alligator shear therefore provides a flexible and economical solution for routine scrap preparation.
The Q43-800 uses a hydraulic drive system consisting of an electric motor, hydraulic pump, control valves, cutting cylinder and blade frame.
The operator places the scrap inside the cutting area and adjusts the cutting position according to the required finished length. Once the machine is activated, the hydraulic cylinder moves the upper blade downward against the lower blade and cuts the material.
The reference cutting frequency of 9–20 cuts per minute supports continuous processing of bars, rebar and production offcuts.
Actual speed depends on material size, material grade, feeding efficiency, hydraulic settings and control mode.
Within the rated cutting range, hydraulic mechanical shearing can replace part of the flame-cutting work.
Pre-cutting long scrap allows it to fit more efficiently into a scrap metal baler chamber.
Shorter and more regular pieces are easier to sort, stack, weigh and load.
PLC semi-automatic control can improve cycle consistency and reduce repetitive manual control operations.

The 35×35 mm square-bar and Ø40 mm round-bar capacities are reference values for ordinary low-carbon steel.
Actual capacity depends on:
Stainless steel, high-strength alloy steel, hardened steel and bundled rebar may require smaller cutting dimensions.
The approximately 80-ton nominal force is suitable for routine processing of small and medium scrap steel, rebar and bars.
The extended blade provides flexible positioning space for different offcut shapes and light metal sections.
Compared with large gantry or container shears, the machine requires relatively low installed power.
Customers can select manual control or PLC semi-automatic operation according to production requirements and budget.
The machine occupies relatively little floor space and is suitable for facilities with limited installation space.
Manual feeding and button controls are straightforward after basic operator training.
The mature hydraulic design allows convenient inspection and replacement of blades, seals and filter elements.
The motor and electrical system can be configured according to local voltage, frequency and phase requirements.
For cutting rebar, round bars, angle steel, bar ends and general metal offcuts.
Long scrap can be shortened before entering a scrap metal baler.
For processing bar ends, steel cut-offs and machining waste.
For cutting unusable short lengths, irregular sections and rejected steel materials.
For reducing scrap to suitable furnace-charge dimensions.
For selected light steel components and structural scrap.
The shear can be combined with conveyors, balers and magnetic-separation equipment.
The operator places the scrap on the lower blade seat or working table.
The material is adjusted according to the required finished length.
The 7.5 kW motor drives the hydraulic pump and supplies pressurized oil to the cutting cylinder.
The hydraulic cylinder pushes the upper blade downward.
The upper and lower blades apply opposing forces and cut the material.
The hydraulic system returns the upper blade frame to its original position.
The operator repositions the material or loads the next piece.
Manual operation is suitable for varied scrap, while PLC semi-automatic operation is suitable for repetitive cutting work.
Customers should identify whether the material is carbon steel, rebar, round bar, square bar, angle steel, stainless steel or alloy steel.
Useful information includes:
The 9–20 cuts per minute figure is a reference cycle rate rather than a fixed hourly tonnage.
Actual output depends on:
An 800 mm blade provides flexible loading space but does not mean maximum-thickness material can be cut across the full blade length.
Manual control is suitable for mixed materials with varying dimensions.
PLC semi-automatic operation is suitable for more consistent cutting cycles.
Customers should provide:
The standard motor power is 7.5 kW.
Customers expecting future volume growth should reserve sufficient cutting capacity during model selection.
Ø40 mm is a reference capacity for ordinary low-carbon round steel. Stainless steel, alloy steel and hardened steel may require a smaller diameter.
Several bars may be cut depending on diameter, material grade and quantity. Bundled bars significantly increase cutting resistance.
The standard feeding method is manual. The control system can be manual or PLC semi-automatic.
Blade life depends on material hardness, operating time, cutting position and maintenance. Worn blades may be turned, re-ground or replaced.
It is more suitable for small and medium-scale scrap preparation. Heavy structural scrap, thick plate and high-volume mixed scrap may require a larger alligator shear, gantry shear or container shear.
The machine is supplied with a one-year warranty. Technical and spare-parts support is available for manufacturing-related quality problems during the warranty period.
Maintenance guidance, troubleshooting assistance and spare-parts supply remain available after the warranty period.
